Top 10 reasons why you should use a RADELN bike cover

Here are the top 10 reasons why you should use a RADELN vehicle travel bike cover when transporting your bike on a bike-rack (say that 10 times fast).

1. A clean bike is a fast bike.  Who wants to clean their bike after a long drive through an unforeseen rain or snowstorm kicking up dirt and road grime into your bike for hours?  Keep your bike ready to ride in a RADELN waterproof bike cover for a bike rack.

2. Frame protectionWe all love our bikes maybe a bit too much. What lengths do you go to to protect your frame from scratches?  You never know what your bike may encounter when hauling it on a bike rack without a bike cover.

3. Conceals your bike from opportunistic bike thieves.  The flexibility of having your bike in a RADELN bike cover for traveling allows you to make a pit stop in an unfamiliar area and feel confident that your bike is concealed from opportunistic bike thieves.  The RADELN bike rack bike cover adds one more layer to deter a thief.

4. Salt, the silent killer.  There's nothing worse than salt for bike components. Driving with bikes on a bike rack to warmer parts for the winter?  Well if you're lucky enough to avoid a snowstorm, you're more than likely going to run into road salt.  Road salt will turn your clean bike chain brown by the time you reach sunny Florida.  Here, the RADELN bike cover acts like a chain cover.

5. Ass saver, but for your bikeWhen your bike is unprotected on a tray-style rack (which by the way are our favorite hitch bike racks for transport), it may get sprayed if you're driving through inclement weather.  Keep your drivetrain shielded from side-spray (ie. getting sprayed from the side vs. from head on when you're riding) with a RADELN bike cover for bike rack travel.

6. Highway travel - road grime and nasty chemicals.  A long drive will typically take you on highways - a totally different beast than your Sunday coffee loop roads.  Highways have various chemicals from tire burn to oil leaks to treatment chemicals for vegetation control.  Nasty stuff that you do not want in your components.  Unless you love taking your bike into your local bike shop!

7. Lock it up without damaging your frame.  Many bike racks come with a locking system.  We find it beneficial to wrap your bike-lock around the bike cover to prevent friction against your frame.

8. Safe in the Airbnb.  If you're traveling with your bike, you may be staying at a friend's place or an Airbnb.  So, of course you won't have your typical bike-stand or place to store your bike during your stay.  Feel confident leaning your bike against a wall or inside a garage without fearing it's surroundings when it's in your RADELN bike cover.  Simply slide it off when you're ready to ride.  See our instructional video on Instagram @radelnroad to see how this is done.

9. Sun damage.  Now of course we love a beautiful sunny day, but your bike may not love to cook out in the sun on your bike rack on a long drive.  Didn't think you needed a bike-cover on a sunny day?  Think again!  Keep the UV's off your bike to prevent fading colors or deterioration to other areas of your bike.

10. Don't be a streaker, cover your bike with a RADELN bike cover.  A naked bike is a slow bike!
